Why a photo scavenger hunt works
A reception seats people next to the guests they already know. A prompt like “snap a photo with someone from the other side of the family” is permission to walk up to a stranger, and a photo is a shorter commitment than a conversation. The mingling is the point. The photos are the proof it happened.
The other half is coverage. One photographer cannot be at the kids’ table, the bar, and the back row of the ceremony at once. Two hundred guests with prompts can.
How to run one

Give each guest eight to twelve prompts, not thirty
Thirty is a menu, not a game. Print the whole list for yourself, then pick the dozen that fit your crowd and your venue. Every prompt on this page is short enough to fit on a table card.

Put the list where the phones already are
One card per table, or one per place setting. A single sign by the door is read once and forgotten. The prompts that get done are the ones a guest can glance at while they eat.

Set a deadline that lands mid-reception
Cake cutting is the natural one. It gives the cocktail-hour prompts time to happen and leaves the dance floor prompts as a bonus round.

Decide where the photos go before you print anything
This is where paper versions quietly fail. Guests complete the prompts and the photos stay on their phones. The hunt only works for the couple if there is one place every completed photo lands.
